Eugene Birth & Family was founded with the vision of connecting families with compassionate, professional doulas while creating a supportive community where birth workers can grow and thrive. Each doula on our team is carefully selected for her skill, compassion, and commitment to continuous learning. Through comprehensive training and ongoing mentorship, we ensure every family receives exceptional, confident care throughout their journey.

Laura Finnegan, Founder
Laura has been serving families as a birth doula since 2005 and has since expanded her offerings to include postpartum support, belly binding, and placenta encapsulation.
She views birth and the postpartum period as profoundly transformative times in a family’s life. Today, Laura focuses primarily on connecting families with the right doula through Eugene Birth & Family, while continuing to cherish the opportunity to support the occasional repeat client.
A mother of four, Laura enjoys spending time with her family—swimming in the creek, exploring the Oregon coast, or visiting her parents in Southern Oregon. She also loves discovering new food trucks and local restaurants, and attending concerts and comedy shows with her husband.
